About Us

The Wilmac Company was founded in 1957 by William G. McDonnell, Sr. in Rochester, New York. By 1978, sustained by superior service and support, Wilmac grew to be the largest supplier of dictation equipment in Upstate New York. As we have from the start, we provide only the highest quality dictation equipment—this includes equipment manufactured by Philips, DVI and Sony.

In 1978, Wilmac began to market and service word processing equipment. When the word processor was replaced by the IBM PC, Wilmac entered into the service and repair of personal computers. From the beginning, Wilmac has always focused on providing exceptional service and support on all its product offerings.

In 1992, consistent with our strong background in dictation recording, Wilmac expanded its product line by entering into the Voice Logging recorder industry. Representing Thales/Racal Recorders (and subsequently NICE Systems), Wilmac became the number one provider of mission critical call recording solutions for Financial, Call Center and Public Safety applications. By 1999, we had expanded to include the Greater Toronto Area, and in the process, became the largest dealer in North America. Wilmac has maintained its position as one of the top 5 North American dealers to this day.

Staying true to our mission to provide our clients with the finest available call recording tools, Wilmac's product offering scope recently expanded to include the popular Fusion Suite of digital dictation and transcription products. This suite consists of Fusion Voice - Digital Dictation System, Fusion Speech - Voice Recognition Application and Fusion Text - Medical Transcription Application.

As our customers' needs changed, it became quite apparent that not one manufacturer could provide all the solutions for the marketplace. Wilmac further expanded its product offering by adding the Mercom Audiolog & CSI Virtual Observer to its product portfolio. Wilmac now offers solutions to fit all needs, whether a large or small enterprise.

The year 2004 brought further expansion with the opening of Wilmac's Manhattan office. Because of our unparalleled reputation for service and support, Nice Systems appointed Wilmac to be their authorized NYC Service Center for maintaining legacy Racal/Thales recorders. In addition, Wilmac is pleased to offer a complete line of call recording solutions including Financial Compliance Solutions, Call Center Solutions and Public Safety Compliance solutions in New York City.

With offices in New York City, Toronto and Rochester, and fueled by the experience and strong principles gathered over the past 56 years, Wilmac continues to provide its clients with "best of breed" products and the highest level of service available.
